*edit* managed to find some old styled cola bottles and found these to be just perfect, woohoo!
So I did a little fun project today. I had some soda bottles and noticed they looked a bit similar to the sunset sarsaparilla bottles.
-I cleaned up two of the bottles, scraping the old label off carefully using a pocket knife, running the bottles under hot water and washing with standard dish soap, getting the labels soft and easy to remove, then washed the bottles again to remove any extra sticky goo that was left.
- Then (sneaky used my friends parents printer, uhh not allowed to do that, but did it anyways while they where out.. shhh don't tell them..) printed out the following labels:[link] [link] [link]
-To make the caps I used a sharpie pen in the correct colors, Red for nuka cola caps and brown for the SS caps, letting them dry, I used the labels I printed out and used a glue stick to glue them to the caps, then let them dry. After that I took a black sharpie pen, and took some tissue and colored on the tissue with the black sharpie pen, then just took the tissue and rubbed around on the caps to give it that older look.
-Then after that I simply cut out the labels for the SS and used the glue stick to glue them to the bottles.
-For the liquid inside the full bottle, I put water inside, used food coloring, used about 10 drops of yellow, 2 drops red and 1 drop of blue food coloring to get that "brown soda" look, then just sealed the top off with one of the SS caps.
whew, that was a fun project
I'm not sure what I want to make next. I might want to try Nuka Cola, but I have to find the right bottle shape, and I'm not sure where to look..
